Kiddie AU - Eyes and scars

Aya was the emergency contact on both men's files, which is why she was the one called after they were brought in. Nobody had sorted out what, exactly, had happened although the word riot was used more than once.

The hospital staff didn't really care, they had fifteen people in need of being patched up, and four in need of surgery. By the time Aya got there, her boys had been in the surgery rooms for over an hour, and they weren't sure how much longer it would take.

Elcy was in the waiting room, white as a sheet and gripping her husband's hand as though letting go would mean letting her children go.

RG - Fancy ball

Ansem's yearly Christmas ball wasn't just a big event. It was the big event, one big enough that being on the guest-list was a guaranteed invitation to many of the other exclusive social events of the season. Not that it was limited to the so-called upper-crust! Diplomats and florists rubbed elbow-to-elbow with politicians and professional "companions". All that mattered was being someone that Ansem or his wife found interesting.

The boys, of course, were going. They really had no choice, not with how visible they were, and how much their boss and his wife adored them. The only one of the apprentices who wasn't compelled to attend was Ienzo, and even he generally spent an hour or so at the dinner portion of the night.

Dilan's relatives from the South sent up rolls of glorious silk, one in a vibrant purple that matched Dilan's eyes, the other in a gold matching Braig's. They were, not so surprisingly, coordinated with the duller versions of both colours that dominated the boys' haori and hakima, which they were sure to show the girls months before the ball was scheduled to occur.

The day of the ball the boys knocked on the door of the girls' house, dressed to the nines with an actual horse-drawn-carriage behind them. Dilan held twin bouquets of flowers, and Braig had two flat jewellery boxes.

Kiddie AU - Sideburns!

Dilan had sufficient hair to need to shave by the time he was twelve. It was...exceedingly annoying. Exceedingly.

At thirteen he thumped down next to Aya one morning and declared; "I'm going to grow sideburns. Like, big ones."
