16 Jun 2012 00:20The weeks after they made the choice to define when Traver and Darlene made up were filled with slow courting, as Darlene softened and Traver kept his grovelling at a suitable level. Tiny gifts, a single rose delivered to work or a new bracelet, to show he was thinking about her; making extra time for her to be with Janna even when it wasn't a visitation day, things that made it clear he was all about her.
It drove Kyle crazy, of course. Darlene wasn't thinking right. Oh, she was going out with him once or twice a week, and she kept doing that flirt-but-not-really with him so he knew that she really wanted him, she was just being the flighty idiot that he thought she was. He couldn't seem to keep her thinking the way he wanted her too, couldn't keep her from seeing Traver and forgiving Traver. Every time he tried to make her worry about Traver's business he actually managed to get her to worry more about Traver himself.
They had Thanksgiving day off, and Kyle was pissed that Darlene was going to be out with Traver instead of spending it with him.
Traver showed up at Darlene's place to pick her and Sheeva up, Janna clinging to his back like a little monkey.
