Kiddie AU - Eyes and scars
Aya was the emergency contact on both men's files, which is why she was the one called after they were brought in. Nobody had sorted out what, exactly, had happened although the word riot was used more than once.
The hospital staff didn't really care, they had fifteen people in need of being patched up, and four in need of surgery. By the time Aya got there, her boys had been in the surgery rooms for over an hour, and they weren't sure how much longer it would take.
Elcy was in the waiting room, white as a sheet and gripping her husband's hand as though letting go would mean letting her children go.

Else-wise she'd pace his bed on the way up.

Elcy and Yinsi were still pretty much frozen where they'd been when Aya left, although Yinsi said; "They'll be moving Braig soon. How's Dilan?"

Yinsi pulled Elcy into a hug, and one of the nurses came over at the word stitches, "If you'll come with me, miss? We can get you taken care of, then take you upstairs."
no subject
Blink.
"he didn't bite that hard." Stitches it was though? She guessed? "Is someone going to get Katzu painkillers?"
no subject
"Healing Heart Medical has some, there's someone running for them. He should be here any minute." the nurse said, expertly putting in the three stitches needed for the worst of the cuts, "Lucky for you that Katzu mouths are relatively clean, you won't need a shot."

And resist sneaking in to see the other?

...gave her something to say until the elevator doors closed.

Upstairs, Dilan was in a sort of fugue-state. They didn't have drugs strong enough to put him under, but he didn't care very much. "Monkey-girl."

Aya slipped into the room and went to perch on the chair by his bed. "Told you I'd be back kitten. Braig will be up soon, promise."

About then came the sound of other people in the hall, and then a completely unconscious Braig was wheeled in, followed by his parents. Everyone was shooed over to where Aya was so that they could hook Braig up to all the monitors.
no subject
Oh elements he looked like hell.
But breathing hell.
In, out. In, out. Steady and drugged. Okay, that was good. That was as good as it got right now.
"I'm proud of you."

Dilan was hooked up to a couple of things as well, monitors and an IV of saline because they didn't have any of his blood type on hand. Something that several of the doctors were determined to fix. Soon. Dilan's hand turned over to grip Aya's as tightly as he could - which wasn't much.
Elcy and Yinsi moved over to kiss his forehead and brush his hair back.

As it was right now she was kind of afraid to blink.
Ah, but what she could do was slip her shoes off and prop her feet carefully on Braig's bed across the way so she could at least touch him too. "It's okay kitten, you can close your eyes and rest. I'm watching."

Yinsi sat on Dilan's other side, and Elcy on Braig's. They'd switch later. Neither of them tried to move Aya, however.
no subject
And no, Aya wouldn't have moved anyway. It was just important she touch them right now, that was all.

There wasn't anything that Braig's parents could do for them, for any of them. Eventually Yinsi said; "I'm going to get coffee. Aya, love, what do you want?"
"Coffee, black, three sugars." said the woman holding her son's pale hand.
no subject
...maybe something to cushion the coffee?
"Sandwich with protein and black?"

Elcy wasn't a religious woman, never had been and this didn't change her mind. So where other women might pray, she simply sat and told Aya stories about the boys before she'd met them; how Braig was like when he was learning to speak ("His first word was `Mine`"), Dilan's first baby-steps, the expression on Braig's face the first time the little violet-eyed baby smiled up at him. After fifteen minutes or so she moved to Dilan's side instead and held his hand.
Yinsi was back soon after that, three sandwiches in a bag, and three cups of coffee in a little tray.

It was evidence of her much touch comfort was ingrained in her that when Yinsi returned she ate and rank one handed, keeping the boys connected. Hours later she sighed and eyed her foot on Braig's wrist. "We'll need to push the beds together soon." eventually anyway.
