Kiddie AU - Post growth spurt

It'd been a week, but Dilan...was nowhere near used to his new size. He kept banging into walls, doors, low hanging objects. Anything dangling from the ceiling, and he kept forgetting how wide his shoulders were as well. It was driving him insane.

Not to mention the fears that his size and new, distinct lack of "cuteness" meant that he was hideous looking. He wasn't ready to go back to college, not while still recovering from the agony of the growth spurt, so he was curled up at home trying to get used to himself. Braig had needed to go back and pick school work up for the two of them, trusting that Aya would take care of Dilan until he got back.

Dilan was curled up on the back porch with a couple of blankets and a book. And a protein shake the size of a monster slurpee cup.

"Well, yeah." Dilan agreed, "But he's lazy. It'll be fun!"

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, he is," she agreed. "You'll outpace me now! Even in long distance stuff! So we'll have to take two places in a marathon!"

"Well, yeah." Dilan admitted, "But where you finish isn't important in a marathon. It's that you finish."

[mitochondriaaya]

"What do you say about something about six months from now? That gives us plenty of time to train." And to build up stamina! "And should put us doing a real marathon just a little bit before we go to the southern continent for the summer?"

"That sounds good!" Dilan agreed, "We'll go with that!"

[mitochondriaaya]

"Okay! I'll put it on the big calendar at home!" In the side notes until they found a specific day for a marathon! "Are we suppose to fundraise for marathons?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"We don't have to." Dilan said, "But it'd be charitable, and mom'd like it."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Then we'll tell mom about it too and she'll know a good marathon to start on!" And to fundraise for! She knew all the legit charities! "I could use some of those leg weights later! It'll help build stamina without having to run to the next county!"

"Sounds like a good idea." Dilan agreed, "Got your homework done?" as they got to the house.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Hey, if we're going to do it we'll do it right?" she grinned. "And yeah, I'm caught up through Thursday! So showers and supper and bedtime when we get home!"

"Yup." Dilan agreed, "You take the shower first, I've got sand in my hair." Body hair, he means. Sigh. He sort of missed the pre-puberty lack of hair. Or, you know, less hair.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Mom got some stiff brushes for you!" Aya pointed out. "But I"ll go first and be out quick okay? And then help mom with supper snacks!"

"Mom's awesome." Dilan said, "Okay! Thank you." he headed up to grab a book until she was done.

[mitochondriaaya]

"She tries to think of everything!" Aya grinned and dashed up the stairs. Showering was easy for her! That was going to change when her hair got longer, a little, but still! "It was about ten minutes later when she came out bundled in a towel and grinning. "Done! Mom got new soap!"

"Oh, cool." Dilan said, heading up to shower. It took him about four times as long as her to get done, but eventually he came down in a pair of hakama and a smile.

"Hi, mom."

Aya was sitting on the counter and assembling sandwiches while chatting with Elcy. She grinned when Dilan came in and looked him over. "Those are the new ones! They look good!"

"Yes, they do. You both did well shopping," Elcy chuckled. "Get off the counter dear and take the sandwiches to the table."

"Duh they're new." Dilan said, "They don't look like shorts." He headed to the table and settled down gingerly in the chair. "Thanks for the sandwich, mom and Aya!"

[mitochondriaaya]

"Hey, I was trying to give you a compliment!" Aya pouted and hopped down to bring food over. "They do look good!" Grumping and flopping into a chair now? Yes.

"Bedtime is eleven fifteen today," Elcy chuckled and sipped from a mug of tea in her hands. "Don't eat too slowly."

Dilan grinned and reached over to ruffle her hair, cheerfully. "Yes'm." Dilan said, bolting his food. He was fifteen, was there any other way to eat?

[mitochondriaaya]

No, there was no other way to eat! And as long as he didn't choke he'd never get in trouble for it! Aya stuck her tongue out after the hair ruffling and bolted her own food. "Should we put some of the new clothes in the wash tonight so you can wear teh workout stuff to the gym tomorrow?"

"Yes, that sounds good." Dilan agreed, licking his fingers, "I'll head and do that now."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Napkin dork!" Aya passed him one and grinned before going to rinse plates. "Oh, right, calendar!" Time to do that!

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yeah, yeah." He wiped his fingers and tossed the napkin, then went to do laundry.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Manners are important!" Aya giggled and set the plates to dry. "See you upstairs!" She was going to brush her teeth now yep!

Dilan followed several minutes later to brush his own teeth, he was obsessive about it, and generally get ready for bed.
