Day one: A handwritten reminder to call him.
Day two: A bunch of silk flowers. With a note to call him.
Day three: A box of mid-range chocolates.
Day four: A pair of silly, but cheap, earrings.
Day five: An individual creme brulee.
Day six: Tickets to a rock-climbing extravaganza with a hopeful smiley-face.

"Graceful" she commented teasingly, settling in her own chair a little more so. "Are they actually going to bring us menus or is this another place you guys are too well known in?"

"Menus." Braig says, laughing, "I usually hit here after lunch and they're not open for dinner."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Hey, important question to ask with you guys!" she laughed back and wrinkled her nose "Glad we ended up here though." It was kind of uncomfortable to stare at a menu when the people you were with didn't need them.

"Fair enough." He grins at her, and makes a note to start taking the girls to restaurants that don't know him and Dilan as well.

Maya was going to smack her if she caught on to the boys avoiding 'their' eating places. Smack her on general principals because it would be Aya's fault! "Menus!" Aya greeted the waitress and happily accepted hers "Thank you!"

She nudged Braig with her foot as she eyed the list "Aside from being able to eat anything what do you actually like?"

"I have developed a fondness for meat products." Braig admits, "And vegetables. I tend not to eat a lot of fruit because it gets Dilan hyped up, and somewhere along the line I just lost the taste for it."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That helps a little." she admitted "If you're still making me order everything." it narrowed it down slightly at least!

[sliceitwithwind]

"I don't eat noodles out of the house." he adds after a second, "Nobody makes noodles as well as Dilan makes noodles."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Helps more" she made exaggerated strike-throughs with her finger on the menu "Thin soups or thick soups?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Both." he admits, with a small shrug, "But Dilan likes the thick ones better, it takes a lot to power his frame."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Noted!" she'd remember that if they ever ended up cooking for the boys! "Alright, split a sampler of fried things to start then move on to steak skewers, chowder, and various stuffed breads?" she suggested.

"Sounds awesome." Braig agrees happily.

[mitochondriaaya]

"...you're easy." she teased. She honestly had expected to negotiate on at least one item? "Or starved, that'd do it too."

"Grew up with Dilan." Braig says, laughing, "Seriously, though, I just like food."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Well, next time I'll believe you when you say it?" she laughed "Maya has the bad habit of saying 'order for us' then being not in the mood for what I get."

"As if." he shakes his head, "I tell people what I think. When I'm not in the mood for something I'll tell you."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Works for me." It'd be strange and new in her experience, but she could deal with that! "So...what happens after lunch? Do we get you back to your office?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Unfortunately so." he says with a sigh, "I've got a volunteer thing I do which I would be a lot more enthused about if it didn't mean giving up time with you." polite little leer, there, before he follows it up with "Bunch of sixth graders coming in and poking around some of the labs, then getting some metaphysics practical demonstrations."

"I'm more than happy to bow out in favor of kids." She grinned and pulled her elbows off the table as the waitress brought the appetizers. "Be enthused, it's cute." and as hard as it was to picture Braig surrounded by munchkins, well, he was the man who installed a slide in a climb zone.

He grins back and sits up to eat. "I like kids...as long as they're able to, like, run. Even Dilan was kind of boring until he could do things on his own. He was precocious, though."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Kids are fun." she agreed happily "We don't get groups touring through the hospital, but med students kind of make up for it." kind of, in that 'they're cute and lost' kind of way.

"So you got to chase baby Dilan around when he got up on his feet?"

"You don't blow things up nearly as often." Braig points out, then he shakes his head, "Nah, he always knew he was mine. He, like, followed me around from the time that he could crawl."

[mitochondriaaya]

"No, but we get to poke people. That can be interesting too!" she defended laughingly. "Ah, so he chased you. That had to lead to some interesting things..." like early muscle development and a baby tackling stairs and such to keep up with the older boy.

There are reasons Dilan is scary in shape, yes. "Yup. He was an awesome baby."

[mitochondriaaya]

...not exactly scary in shape.

"Fair enough." she wasn't exactly sure what else she was suppose to say to that.
