"Here, there, wherever." Dilan says cheerfully, standing up and offering her his hand. He scoops up the carrier as he stands, slinging the strap across his chest, "You can dump her in there if you get tired of carrying her."

Aya got the look that very clearly said 'Anyone getting tired of Cat was insane' but accepted Dilan's hand up anyway. Her shoulders weren't nearly the support Dilan's were, but she had a chest to even things out!

"Wherever sounds good." Aya agreed easily. "I'm needed at the gym in...hmmm, eight, but until then I'm all yours." 'yours' being plural of course.

Cat finds a comfy spot and snuggles in. "Hmmm. I know a restaurant with outdoor seating, if you want to get drinks before you work out? By drinks I'm thinking lemonade or something, obviously."

And Aya tried not to look like she was walking with several thousand dollars worth of spun glass in her care? Or, really, she just tried not to jostle Cat. "That would be wonderful. I don't know how much working out there'll be tonight though...we're rookie watching." she offered.

Dilan is trying not to laugh at his girlfriend. "Cat's very durable, sweetie." he points out, arm around Aya's waist. "Down this way about eight blocks, left, another block. Green tables. Well, if you want company Cat and I can watch rookies with you."

"She's a tiny kitty." she countered. "I don't want to drop her, even if she could manage quite fine." she'd figure out the balance between careful and graceful soon enough?

"If you want." she agreed. "It might be boring, abysmal, or worrisome, depending on the batch."

"She is, but she's a scrapper." he reaches across their bodies and pets Cat gently. "I've got a book, if it's boring I can read."

"And I don't want to give her cause to glare at me..." Aya admitted with a laugh. She tilted her head just enough to lean against Dilan's arm a moment as he petted Cat.

"Well, I hope it's not that boring? I don't get to read..." she sighed. She was expected to watch and offer opinions and concerns to the other officers present.

"Well, yes, but you get paid for that." Dilan points out, "I - get to be eye candy for you, afterwards."

"Well, kind of paid. Officers who routinely help watch over the rookies in training, or help out with teaching get to use the gym for free." she sighed. And honestly, she liked helping.

"A kitty and you sticking around just to offer yourself up as eye candy? Wow, what did I do to deserve a day like this?" she teased. She wasn't saying no. Nope. That'd be very, very dumb.

Eye candy. Hmmm. "The gym has a pool." she noted.

"I'd need to take Cat home and get my swimsuit." Dilan says, "But I like swimming, if you can put up with the sight of that much body-hair."

"It'd let you escape the potential boredom of waiting." she pointed out. Though Cat going home was a sad, terrible thing. "If you don't mind the travel time."

"I've the feeling I'll survive." she grinned.

"I don't mind, babe." Dilan assures her, "If you'd like, you can come over for supper afterwards. Braig is out at his girl's place tonight."

She nuzzled Cat's fur again as she thought that one over. "We'll see?" she offered at last. "I really need to try to sleep...tomorrow is Saturday." she sighed.

"But if we're not in the pool long I'll probably take you up on the offer."

"Sounds like a plan to me." Dilan says, accepting the possibility of not having her over easily enough. He'd like her to be there, but he only makes any given offer once.

There are some games he doesn't play, the "Will you, won't you" one is one of them.

"Provided all goes well, I'm back up in the real world come late Sunday night?" she offered. "If I can't make it tonight." She wasn't trying to be coy, this weekend just had the potential to be...tricky.

And she'd rather be in one piece and datable for Dilan, even if it meant not dining with him.

"That works." Dilan says, cupping her cheek gently, "I'll just redo my hair Saturday, get that over with for the month, and then if you can make it Sunday I'll be all pretty for you."

"One of these months I'll actually get to witness one of these infamous hair washings." she chuckled softly, then turned her head to kiss his palm gently. "Though if you're going through the trouble to be pretty I might have to dress up..."

That'd...well. It'd probably delay dinner until Monday morning. Early. Depending on how rough the weekend was...but she'd do it.

"Any time you want to." Dilan says simply, "It's not that interesting, though. Just lots of time with a pick and wax, usually zoning out to a foreign film."

"Hmmm, 'want' and 'free to do so' are different things." she sighed. "And boring or not, I'm curious. I'll figure it out sometime." she shrugged and shifted Cat once more before her arm got tired.

"You strange people in the rest of the world who have this 'weekend' thing..."

"Hey - I have weekends when I take them." Dilan says with a shrug, "This week, I get a weekend. When experiments start coming to a head I'll have less free time than you."

"Even if you only have it occasionally." she amended wryly. "Though with less free time than me...that'd put you practically living at your lab. Ouch."

"Fold-out couch in my office, spare clothing in the desk." Dilan agrees.

She let out a low whistle and lifted Cat to eye level "Your owner is nuts." she informed the feline soberly.

"I can understand necessity...and I'm glad you're not passing out at your desk but..."

"That's why I get the big bucks." Dilan says, kissing her cheek.

"Mrrrp!"
