Braig was out of the room when Dilan peeked back in, finally. He grabbed the bag, which over the course of packing had taken on capital letters; The Bag. It had the G-strings with their fake fig leaves, the apples, Aya's clear bra, and the container that held one comfortably dozing snake.

Dilan had checked, it was fine to keep the snake curled up in there for the couple of hours it had taken...and he'd checked on it every time they stopped. Still a very large snake. Very large. He poked the remaining lump in the bed, "Aya! He's out!"

He dropped her share of stuff on the bed and started stripping with absolutely no regard for modesty. Not that he'd ever had any. The usual array of noises that occurred after every waxing were made, along with giggles. (Manly giggles.)

"Right," Pierce snorted. "If it wasn't for that damn poison you took care of he wouldn't be doing more than telling me to slap super glue on his face." Granted, Pierce never actually did this when told to by a drunk brawler, but hey!

"...Probably. He's kind of an idiot, sometimes." But it was fond. Braig was an idiot, but he was their idiot. "I just hope I got all of it."

"Well, yeah, he has to balance the genius somehow." Just like Dilan had his moments of idiocy! It was a thing! "Even if you didn't I don't think the brute back there was able to really brew up something assassin like in it's deadliness. Worst case scenario Braig has a headache to match mine tomorrow! Serve him right, not getting hangovers."

"Yeah, that's kinda a pain sometimes." Dilan agreed, "But then, I have hangovers that make me want to die if I have two beers." he glanced at the cop, "With mom and dad at home."

The cop snorted, "Not my problem tonight, kid. Just keep it that way."

"He has very responsible parents," Pierce allowed with a nod. "Still, damn Braig to the upper atmosphere for the lack of hangovers. It makes me want to shake him until his head spins."

"I wouldn't." Dilan said, "He gets bitchy when he's hungover."

The cop pulled into the hospital and opened the door for them, Dilan popping his back before saying; "Thanks."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, well, we could at least all be bitchy together." Pierce snorted and slipped put of the car with a nod to the officer. "Bitchy without drag even. So, ER waiting room?" Which way? This wasn't his town, or hospital of choice!

"This way." Dilan had been there before, although he mentioned; "I donate blood here, so that there's always some in the city in case I get hurt. Donate back home and at Aya's college, too." He's a busy guy! Also pretty damned smart. "I know this hospital pretty well."

Aya was not allowed into the room with Braig, confidentiality issues, so the boys met her in the waiting room.

"Dude, you're prepared." Pierce noted, following him kind of like a bit of flotsam caught in Dilan's wake. Even better that the leader had a goal in mind! "I n case, you know, Aya's college throws buzz saws at you or something."

Aya was..in the middle of explaining 'emergency contact' t the nice nurse who was keeping her out when the boys arrived. Well, it'd serve them right if Braig clocked somebody..."Hey, slow cop car."

"You never know. I could get hit by a bus." He totally could get hit by a bus! He gets distracted. "Yeah, I know." Dilan leaned down to buss her cheek, then turned to the nurse, "You have to let one or the other of us in. We both have power of attorney. Also if we have to call his mom you'll be really unhappy."

"Would take a hell of a bus," pierce noted after a moment of thought. "Like an apocalyptic, reinforced kinda bus given how solid you are." Just saying.

Aya gave the nurse a 'So there!' look then leaned into Dilan. "Oh, right , we did sign those didn't we? We see the lawyers for the weirdest things, I forgot."

"It made sense at the time." Dilan pointed out, "I was moving in with Braig and we always do things as a group."

[mitochondriaaya]

"You say 'moving in' like he had a place without you before." She chuckled and slipped her arm around Dilan's waist. She couldn't touch Braig right now, that meant Dilan got extra contact! "Also, Braig gets my kidneys if he needs them. I think I wrote that somewhere."

"Are you guys even the same type?" Dilan asked, curious. As far as he knew he was SOL if he ever needed a transplant.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Does that matter for contracts?" Aya shrugged. "If we're not compatible, I may be able to give kidney to brother of guy compatible with Braig!"

"I honestly don't know. I'll look it up." While, apparently, Aya is in with Braig, because they finally got permission.

Dilan has to stay out because there wasn't enough room for him back there.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Because if I can't trust you to save my kidneys, who could I trust?" she laughed and headed off. Aya was a tiny thing? That meant she could take up very little space...

...not that Braig was being surrounded by arcane machines or anything. Some drawing of blood to test lingering poison, an IV just in case...

...and just a bandage on his face until they knew if the wound would need anything besides stitching done to it.

Pierce blinked at Dilan, "She's joking right?"

"Hey, babe." Braig wasn't asleep any more, at least, "They say I can go home after the blood test comes back, as long as there isn't anything left."

"...It's Aya. She might be joking, but she might not. All I know is that I better look things up and be ready to defend those kidneys."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Well, as long as there's nothing in it and then you can get stitched properly," she corrected. "That bandage is just temporary you know!" She'd sit on him if they needed her to.

"You have a complicated life man." Pierce clapped his hand on Dilan's shoulder and then kicked his feet up on the chair across from him in the waiting room. "So, like, could someone sue over kidneys?"

"Yeah, yeah. I know." he said with a sigh. The nurse came back and smiled, "Looks like your friend got all the toxin, so we can get that cut all sewn up."

Braig gave Aya a look like whyyyyyyyy are they always perky at me?

"Yeah, I know. Good thing, too, or I'd get bored as hell." Dilan shifted, awkwardly, on the chair. Which complained loudly, "I don't know if we could sue over kidneys or not. I'll have to ask around."

[mitochondriaaya]

She touched his good cheek gently and grinned. "Because it's their job, and women like being perky at you." So he'd just have to suffer a bit.

"...you know, I got a creepy chill up my back when you said 'bored'." He did. Dilan bored was a bad idea! He knew it instinctively! "I bet we could try! And it'd be weird enough to sway a jury!"

He rolled his eyes at her, "Babe. I am so not at my best right now."

"Well, that's because you're a smart half-lemur." Dilan said, grinning one of those super fangy grins of his, "But right now we don't need to sue over kidneys."

[mitochondriaaya]

"No, but you're still a sight better than she gets to see in the ER most nights so shush."

"Yes, my hind-brain recognizes imminent danger. Whoo-hoo!" Way to go brain. "Well, yes, but if we sue over kidneys now we get a jump on the defense and establish a precedent!"

"Mmmph." he said in return, gripping her hand while the nurse started sewing his face up. Ow, ow, ow.

"It's good for you non-predators." said the other half-lemur cheerfully, "But if we sue without reason we could just as easily be charged with wasting the court's time."

Oh, baby. They numbed it up! Aya just sat and held his hand. She didn't want to get herself kicked out or something.

"Yes, so we don't get munched. Dude you won on the halfsy side. My teeth are like, so blunt in comparison." It wasn't fair! "Hmmm, true. We hold that in reserve then."
