Vice AU - Vacation

Dilan needed a break before the others did, although not by much. He needed to recover from having been ill, and he REALLY needed a good workout or seven. Spending the time in Aya's apartment wasn't bad, and after his first trip to Nara's gym he came back to spend some time watching TV and doing his hair.

Which is why when Ben got in there was a seven foot tall fluffy Katzu wearing a towel and a hell of a lot of piercings lounging in front of the TV with wax.

"Yeah, that's true. And you're really tall." Hmmm."Maybe we should go there while I'm short too." He'd put a star next to the idea on his list!

"What do you think about Disneyland?" He was getting adult feddback now!

[sliceitwithwind]

"Tall and broad." Dilan agreed, "Disneyland can be fun, but it's also really crowded and the lines are horrible. If you're going there, try to go in the off season, like in September or something."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Or there's these passes that let you not stand in line!" Ben pointed out. "I read about them!" When he did research, he did research! But he'd also put down month suggestions by some. He didn't know when Aya would be back after all!

"Do you ever get stuck in alleys and stuff if you have to chase someone?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Haven't yet, but then I tend to let Braig go down the alleys and I go around to cut people off. I'm much faster than I look, and I've got long legs so it works out well."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That would be funny though," if it did happen. When he wasn't having to catch someone. Anyway! "So what do adults do in the Caribbean?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Swim, hang out on the beach, go see tourist spots." Have wild drunken nights together...

[mitochondriaaya]

"Huh. Okay." He could research it. He'd probably be taken with the idea of snorkeling. "I'll look at it!" Just to make sure. His other ideas would probably be more fun for Aya though.

[sliceitwithwind]

"It's more fun than it sounds." Dilan said, "And it's very relaxing."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I guess, but I don't know if Aya likes just sitting on a beach. There's lots of jerks at beaches!" That was just a fact of life! "We've never gone for more than a day trip at a beach."

[sliceitwithwind]

"That's a fair thing to wonder about." Dilan agreed, "Although there are other things to do at beaches. I just like soaking up the sun." And turning even darker than he is.

[mitochondriaaya]

"Like a cat!" Ben laughed cheerfully and finished his meal. "Plus we'd need bathing suits. I have no idea where mine is!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Meow." Dilan agreed, "I am half Katzu! Swimsuits are easy to find...and at your age if it's more than a year old you already need a new one."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, so, cat!" Ben grinned and kept laughing like it was a great joke. He was twelve after all. "Huh? Yeah, I grew a lot this year!" Three whole inches in fact!

They could find swimsuits if Aya liked the beach idea. "In China you can hold pandas." He wasn't really rooting for a China trip but the random fact had come up while researching!

"In China you could hold pandas." Dilan corrected, "I could have a terrified panda attack me."

[mitochondriaaya]

"...dude." Wide eyed staring. Because...whoa. Panda attack. "What happens if you go to the zoo?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Depends on the zoo. The one here has a couple of Katzu who work there, so the animals are used to the scent. In all-human and olia places, though, you can get panicked animals doing everything from running and hiding to trying to attack."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Wow." Just...wow. He was twelve...that sounded kind of exciting and cool. In that 'glad it isn't me' kind of way. "What's the weirdest thing that's happened to you at a zoo?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Did you know," Dilan asked, seemingly ignoring the question, "that terrified lemurs mob whatever is scaring them?"

[mitochondriaaya]

"...no?" No he did not! "Did they bite you?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yup. I had about nine of them clinging to me...and I wasn't much taller than you! Four-eight at the time, and terrified that I'd have to hurt them to get them off me."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Whoa, like a lemur suit!" Because nine lemurs on a kid about Ben's size? Yeah, fuzzy suit! "Were they okay?" Obviously Dilan was, he was here after all.

[sliceitwithwind]

"One of them ended up getting hurt." Dilan admitted, "It was so freaked out that it got a pretty nasty wrenching of it's arm when they pulled it off me. I felt horrible about it." and still felt pretty badly if he were honest, "And spent the rest of the trip to the zoo sitting in the food court area eating burgers."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I'm sorry!" Because Dilan obviously felt bad and that hadn't been why he asked really. "But it could have been worse right? You didn't hurt it, you were just being you!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yup. And the zoo found some Katzu people to work there so that later I could go to the zoo. Most of the smart places try to have at least one on staff."

[mitochondriaaya]

"That's cool!" And it was too! "'cause Aya and I like to go to the Central Pak Zoo sometimes and you guys should come if we all get to hang out!"
