The bar brawl was magnificent. It spread from the original bar (Dilan isn't sure which one that was) to three or four others, going in and out of them into something not quite a riot but not exactly not. Dilan got involved in the second bar on the trip, but managed to hold his own until the cops got there.

And he very politely sat down with his hands behind his head waiting for them to get around to him. Someone with that much facial metal (eyebrow, lip, nose), that hair, and that size tends to ping the combatant radar of everyone. Ever.

"Should I be afraid to let you finish the thermos?" she laughed. She didn't mind the pot comment so much. She was firmly on the side of legalizing the damn weed to better control it.

Well, damn, this was cozy. Nice. There were words for the warmth, really there were...but they didn't matter so much in light of her brain clicking off. It was suddenly very easy to decide exactly how to bridge those several inches for a kiss. It involved her free hand bracing against his chest, but she wasn't balancing all her weight there, just making sure she didn't fall over!

Fun thing about Aya, well, once she decided to do something, she didn't hesitate. And she'd already asked permission after all.

"Nah." he's saying when she leans up and there are suddenly far more important things than defending his drinking habits. Things like tilting his head down to meet her, and brushing her lips with his own very gently.

Hey, he was making things easy on her! She could certainly approve of that. Sure, it had been a little while since she'd last kissed anyone, and his leaning forward made her misjudge slightly, but hey, they still managed. Gentle, sweet...

...good qualities for a first kiss.

She lingered a moment before settling back down and licking her lips thoughtfully.

Dilan keeps his eyes closed a minute longer, then sighs with pleasure. He gives her a very gentle hug and tries quite hard to not move anything below the waist.

Think ice-water thoughts, Dilan. Ice water.

Her brain clicked back on to the fact that she was being an incredibly unintentional tease. Sitting in a guys lap probably shouldn't be combined with surprise kissing...damn. Oops? She moved like liquid, naturally shifting to sit on the ground beside him. She made it very, very clear she wasn't running though by slipping an arm around his waist and leaning.

Then, finally, she actually remembered to eat something. Sue her, she couldn't exactly figure out what to say to get conversation back.

Dilan wraps his arm around her in turn and says, "You're a good cook. Can I get the recipe?"

THAT WORKED!

"We seem to be setting up a recipe swapping trend..." she chuckled. "But sure. They're simple, a kid way back in high school gave me the recipe." cultural events and the Aya begging but hey, persistence paid off.

"Or hell, I can show you how. I usually make some up on Thursdays. They're easy to ship off with Ben to school..."

"I like being shown things." Dilan agrees, instantly. WOO! New date! Doop doop a doo doop, doop doop a doo doop! He ponders a minute, "Anything you'd like me to show you?"

It...wasn't exactly a date, really! It was an invitation into Aya's life for all intents and purposes. Thursdays were kind of sacrosanct. "Anything you'd like to and I have the ingredients for?" she shrugged.

"Cooking wise." she added with a grin. "My kitchen's big enough to share for a while."

"Hmmm. I'll think for a bit, and call you Tuesday to check on ingredients? That way if you don't have something I can pick it up."

"Or we can add it to the list. Ben and I tend to hit the store once we figure out what we need Thursday morning." she offered with a small shrug "Either way. Ben's got a low level allergy to milk products, so all I ask is nothing too cheesy or such unless we're warned?"

Yep. Dilan was going to meet Ben.

"No worries." Dilan says, doing a mental shuffle, "I can do dairy-free easily. I'm not supposed to eat much of it myself, so more goes for Cat than for me."

"Then we're good." she agreed with a grin. Good. Great. Happy? Something like that. "I'm going to shamelessly throw you at Ben for video gaming though." hell, she might even get to work on her puzzle a little this Thursday. Miracles did happen!

"Thursday after next, earliest." Dilan says after another mental shuffle, "Then two Thursdays after that, if it won't work for you."

"Any Thursday works." she admitted, fishing out her own thermos. "It's the day I'm home. "And just about any time too. If you're there early enough we'll just drag you with us shopping."

"I look forward to it." she admitted with a grin. "And Ben will probably go home and tell Danny all kinds of interesting things about you so he might believe me when I say I'm actually having fun..."

"Don't try too hard." she chuckled "I like you as you are." she admitted simply. Really she just wanted him to come over, have fun, maybe relax? That was usually what went on in her home.

"And Ben will be more than impressed enough by the fact you play video games. That and that you drag me out."

"I rather like me as I am, too." Dilan agrees happily, "I make video games, not just play them. I'm talented."

"Yep, you'll be the next hottest thing in a nine year old's life." she laughed. "I almost can't wait..." there was only so much Ben could do to embarrass her after all, that's what little brother's did and she simply had to accept it. Seeing how Dilan interacted with the kid though? She was really looking forward to that.

That...was almost startling to realize.

"Five minutes of fame." she agreed with a laugh. "Though he's got a longer attention span than most kids I've dealt with?" she offered.

"When the inevitable does happen though, I'll tell him to be gentle." she teased.

"That's good." Dilan says as he flops back on the grass to chew food without staring at Aya for a bit, "I have a fragile ego."

She was quick enough to disengage her arm so she didn't follow him down to the grass. Aya did stay leaning against his hip though. He was a better back rest than nothing at the moment! "I'll try not to let me and mine cause you irreparable damage." she chuckled.
