Aya AU
The bar brawl was magnificent. It spread from the original bar (Dilan isn't sure which one that was) to three or four others, going in and out of them into something not quite a riot but not exactly not. Dilan got involved in the second bar on the trip, but managed to hold his own until the cops got there.
And he very politely sat down with his hands behind his head waiting for them to get around to him. Someone with that much facial metal (eyebrow, lip, nose), that hair, and that size tends to ping the combatant radar of everyone. Ever.

She managed to only bounce off him slightly, the badge on a chain around her neck rather incongruous against the tee and jeans. "Sorry sir..." she managed among the called orders, then there was the bellow of "BREA! DOWN, GUN ON THE LEFT!" from the large detective coming in the door.
Obligingly, she ducked under the nearest table, letting the guys in vests handle the rest of the brawl as she caught her breath. "Mondays suck." she remarked to no one in particular. It'd take them hours to book them all...

"Bruised, scratched, maybe bleeding." she noted, taking her partner's hand and climbing to her feet. "This one here was at least cooperating? Get some cuffs over here before he loses feeling in his fingers..."

"Hate to break in, but he's going with the van boys now and we're hitting the alley." Danny teased a little grimly. "You'll see them all again soon enough at the station."

So, a date
Due Ben's hard work and utter commitment to getting Aya through a date, she was outside the precinct in dark slacks and a sapphire silk camisole that matched her eyes. Ben made her buy it weeks ago just for the fact of matching. He'd have been horrified to see her also in her standard black leather jacket. But, hey, she couldn't let a nine year old run her life entirely right?
It was about that time she found the written list of 'tips' stuffed in her pocket, the nine-year-olds hand writing careful and neat on the paper. This? Would be why Aya was chuckling and facepalming as she waited.
Re: So, a date
"Hi, Detective. You look very nice...but I liked the jeans."
Re: So, a date
"You clean up good." Ben had tried to convince her to put makeup on her bruised arms, but she'd pointed out anyone who dated her would have to get used to it eventually so...
Re: So, a date
Re: So, a date
"And no, I've never actually been there. Gotten delivery a time or two...but never been. Anyplace with coffee right now will elevate you to near sainthood though." she grinned.

Phone calls
And maybe, just maybe he'd been a high point in a really bad week and she wanted to touch on that again. So, she turned her music down (The Pirates of Penzance today, she needed the comedy), and cradled her phone against her ear.
Yeah, it was only after dialing that she realized that she really should have thought about what she was going to say.

"What kind of game are you testing?" Ben would love to know anything about games that could be coming out...and it was always good to have something to distract the nine year old with.

Non-invasive testing!
Very clean X-rays. The previous injuries healed very well, with hardly any bone thickening to prove previous breakage.
Aya was happy to chat with the security guard a moment. Tough job that one...but soon enough she was in an elevator, coat over her shoulder as she headed towards the human trial labs. The rooms were set up for non-invasive tests. Weight, blood pressure, body temp...and the ability to monitor each through stresses like exercise and room temp change.
Re: Non-invasive testing!
He's also sitting in a comfortable chair, reading her file. "This is really interesting. You heal atypically well for either species. Whiiiich you probably already knew, but it's my job to notice things like that."
Re: Non-invasive testing!
She arched an eyebrow at him as she draped her coat over a chair. Sure, it was getting towards summer, but leather jackets were useful. "Well, if you count my doctor threatening to shoot me to keep me in bed, but knowing it won't keep me down as long as she wants as 'knowing' yes?" she offered.
"Or getting lectures about 'just because you're young and heal well now...'" it was exactly something she'd gone out of her way to ask her doc?
Re: Non-invasive testing!
Re: Non-invasive testing!
"Hmmm, no. Routine." she shrugged.

Wednesday in the park
She was harder to deny in person.
The damn things had spent in a day and a half tucked in her closet with leather softener. After all, she wanted to skate, not fight the skates the whole day. It was a wonderful distraction through the week though. Getting through her duties took longer than expected, and she'd apologized when she called...
...but she managed to be at Dilan's lab only an hour late with her backpack and skates dangling.
Re: Wednesday in the park
"Hey. Got everything?"
Re: Wednesday in the park
"And yes, I should. If I didn't remember it it's probably not important?" From drinks, to food, to skates and even an ace bandage tucked in a pocket in case she did sprain an ankle. Everything, right?
Re: Wednesday in the park
Re: Wednesday in the park
"Bus? A bit more reliable just after lunch hour." backpack back in place, she laid the book in Dilan's hand, then hooked her arm in his.
