"I can respect that." more the fact that he admitted he needed people than anything else. She dealt with people notorious for the 'I'm okay' response. Hell, she was one of them. "How do define a situation you need to be removed from...or is it obvious?"

It took her a moment to re-acclimate to wheels on her feet, but muscle memory was a wonderful thing. It was like riding a bike actually. Soon she was skating in slow circles just opposite Dilan...and occasionally scuffing her brakes to break them in.

"If I've got a protractor out near the bookshelf, stop me. Ditto if there is blood in the sink while washing my hands. It's pretty obvious." Dilan just came to terms with it. He's a people person.

He grins as she gets used to it and starts leisurely down the path. "I love the park."

"Ouch" she noted as she glided beside him. "Well, obvious is good. You kind of get used to ignoring subtle trouble signs sometimes..." she noted quietly.

"Hmmm, we used to run through here. All of us in training. It was one of the better courses." she agreed. "And you got to see people!"

"I do the same, sometimes, but I prefer it at dusk. It's a safe time for someone like me, but not for smaller people or human people so it's not crowded."

"I don't like running with a piece." she sighed "And you're right, I'm kind of a target once darkness starts to fall around here if I'm not carrying." even if she was, but, it was easier to get herself out then.

"I stick to the gym now that I don't have the giant group to run with."

"Pretty much, yeah." Dilan agrees, "Whereas I have the big, dark, not human, enough metal to give an airport attendant a nervous twitch thing going for me. And the colour scheme helps with that."

She laughed at that, skating just far enough away to give him a thorough, and obvious, once over. "Yes, you're terrifying material Dilan." she noted. "In a good way though."

"I pity anyone manning a metal detector near you though."

"Oh, yeah. I'm a scary man. Rar. Meer." Xaldin makes claws at her, and crosses his eyes.

"I forgot a couple of them once and that was really embarrassing."

"Only to those intimidated by height." she laughed, then almost tripped as she took her attention off skating. "Meer?"

"I can imagine. It's bad enough forgetting to drop your keys in the damn baskets..."

"It's the sound Cat makes when she's hungry." Dilan explains, pitching his voice into an uncanny imitation of a hungry cat; "Meer, meer, meer, meer, meer, meer."

"Cats actually make that noise?!" she was...well, impressed wasn't the right word. Giggly maybe? "It sounds like something out of a cartoon." she admitted.

"Hmmm, the bystanders are starting to think I never feed you..."

Dilan grins at her and helpfully says, "Meer!" before laughing, "If you want I'll introduce you to Cat. She's leash trained."

She blinked at that "...I was under he impression a cat would take your arm off if you leashed them." she noted. "That's just...really weird Dilan." cats and leashes?

Ummm.

"Sure?"

"Cat is really laid back." Dilan says cheerfully, "To the point where if she's trying to swallow something bad for her I can get away with shaking her by the back legs until it falls out of her mouth."

"Are you sure she's a cat and not a pillow with an appetite?" she countered with a chuckle.

"I have never, ever heard a cat described that way. A lot of the precinct guys own cats...." she shrugged "And laid back for them tends to be 'enjoys playing more than eating my fingers'..."

"She's a cat." Dilan insists, "She's just my Cat. We get along well, she and I. I've had her since she was weaned, practically. She's already lost her eye, the shelter people didn't know how, and I just kind of fell in love."

"Well, you're the biologist, you'd know." she admitted with a grin "I just had to make sure."

"She sounds adorable. And since she has you wrapped around her paws she's well worth meeting." knowing Aya, she'd probably get lost in the 'It's a Kitty!' reaction, but hey, nothing wrong with that.

"She is." Dilan says firmly, "I'll bring her next time, I promise. She's got a nice little cat-tree in my office anyway."

"Hmmm, no roller skates next time then." she noted. She couldn't see making a cat keep up with skaters?

"What kind of things do you do with a cat?"

"I pet her, and I carry her on my shoulders, and I feed her." Dilan explains, "Sometimes we play with feather toys. Often she chews on my dreads."

"...I meant out in the wider world." she laughed. But, still, good to know. "You make a hell of a mobile cat toy, obviously." she chuckled, reaching up to flick one of his dreadlocks.

"Carry her on my shoulders and let her eat my hair." Xaldin says with a grin, "And often use her to drive away reporters. They tend to assume she'll eat their faces."

"Oh, she looks that fierce nestled in your hair?" yeah, she couldn't picture it. The idea of adding a feline to a Dilan just kind of ended in adorable for her. She blamed the baby pictures?

"That's a plus I guess. And cuter than Danny as a deterrent."

"Well, she's missing an eye." Dilan points out, "And she's got a lot of scars."

"...yeah, I've never seen that as potential for face eating." she admitted. "You really want to be afraid of the ones that look perfect." anyone. Cats. People.

"Then again, we are talking about the collective IQ of reporters, so..."
