The bar brawl was magnificent. It spread from the original bar (Dilan isn't sure which one that was) to three or four others, going in and out of them into something not quite a riot but not exactly not. Dilan got involved in the second bar on the trip, but managed to hold his own until the cops got there.

And he very politely sat down with his hands behind his head waiting for them to get around to him. Someone with that much facial metal (eyebrow, lip, nose), that hair, and that size tends to ping the combatant radar of everyone. Ever.

"I hope you can keep that nonchalance in the face of a precinct..." She reached out to knock on a passing tree. Just in case. Best not to jinx it!

"It'll probably be something like a combination between exes and older brothers..."

"I'll do fine." Dilan promises, laughing softly, "I'm looking forward to it."

"Dilan, I have to ask seriously, are you insane?" she asked laughingly. Really, tackling the boys when they were being...well, precinct boys wasn't her idea of fun. But it was an amusing picture.

Even more amusing was the dead end that the path they were on ended up being. A slight hill and then the creek flowing just beyond the patch of beaten earth...

"You're not the first to ask. I like people, families are people, thus - I like families. It's good to know there are people who care." Dilan slows down to look at the creek for a while, smiling a little.

She braked neatly beside him and slipped her hands in her pockets as she mulled that one over. "Well, put that way it's slightly less terrifying a prospect." she admitted.

"I still reserve the right to be embarrassment if necessary." though she wasn't very good at that "Or kick them." It probably wouldn't surprise Dilan that most of the precinct boys would corner him away from Aya.

"No problem." Dilan says, "Just don't kick me, I'm delicate."

He of the thicker skin and stronger bones, yes.

"Hey, I'm good at not hitting the bystanders!" she claimed, reaching over to poke him "Innocent may be questionable if I'm reduced to kicking, but still..."

"I don't think anyone has called me innocent in a long, long time." Dilan muses, "At least not with a straight face."

"Have you ever been proven guilty in a court of law?" she asked. Yes, with a straight face. Teasing took odd turns with her?

Dilan grins at her and says, "No."

"Right then. You're innocent." it was absolute honesty! "Bold and devious by turns maybe, but innocent." then she was smiling again.

It was just...easy to smile around Dilan?

Dilan laughs, "I feel so young!"

He's glad of that. He likes it when people smile.

"What's the point of skating in the park if you can't feel young?" she laughed back. "Though if it stops working we could think of something else to add to the youthful feel?"

She had no idea what but hey, they could. Maybe find other skaters and play crack the whip?

Dilan laughs at her a little and says, "It made you relax and smile. That was the point."

"Ah, additional good things are just a bonus?" she chuckled. It was touching in an utterly...soft...way. God, the boys would rag on her.

And she was not blushing. Or even thinking of blushing thank you. "Can't confirm the relaxed yet though. We have to make it back up the hill." she teased. The hill was slightly daunting.

"Pretty much." Dilan allows, "And we don't, actually. If we go back up to the first turn-off and hang a left we can take a low, slow rise instead of a sharp hill."

"Hey, my hero." she laughed, glancing back the way they'd come. "That swings us back around towards the zoo doesn't it?" yes, she'd definitely take that route. Longer, winding, but less hill-like!

"Shall we?" she asked, offering her arm.

"So it does!" Dilan agrees, setting his hand on her arm delicately. What? She offered! He likes screwing with expectations. "Want to go see the zoo?"

Aya grinned and laid her free hand across his fingers, then tucked the arms against her side warmly. What? It was how this things went! Figuring out how to skate and not bungle it all? That was fun. "Yes, I haven't been there since the redid the reptile house. Could be worth it."

"I love the reptile house." Dilan chirps, "It's warm, zoo it is!"

"Because of course that's its best feature." she laughed. "The poor snakes feel very neglected now..."

"Snakes, while interesting in many ways and very sexy in certain circumstances involving dancing, are not nearly as intriguing as actually being really warm." Dilan says virtuously.

"Oh...ech." she wrinkled her nose "I can't help but flash to the scene in Bladerunner every time snake dancing comes up." movie marathons could go very, very bad with the group she knew? Blade runner had been good. Playing that particular scene over and over in slow motion to argue over the actual details? That had been bad.

"I'm almost afraid to ask what your heating bills are like."

Dilan laughs and says, "Oh, dear. Well, knock that off my mental images list, then." Mostly. Sort of. Not. "They're not actually that bad, we've got really good insulation, double paned windows, and my room has tapestries slash rugs on the walls to help keep the heat in."

"You don't have to." she laughed "I'm just going to avoid the mental imagery." she pointed out simply. She didn't expect anyone not also experiencing that particular trauma to have issues?

"Hmm, that is the bright way to go about it." she admitted. "How much did the glass run you? I might have to look into that as my next home improvement project." her apartment had a lot of glass and a lot fewer walls?
