Kiddie AU - Post growth spurt

It'd been a week, but Dilan...was nowhere near used to his new size. He kept banging into walls, doors, low hanging objects. Anything dangling from the ceiling, and he kept forgetting how wide his shoulders were as well. It was driving him insane.

Not to mention the fears that his size and new, distinct lack of "cuteness" meant that he was hideous looking. He wasn't ready to go back to college, not while still recovering from the agony of the growth spurt, so he was curled up at home trying to get used to himself. Braig had needed to go back and pick school work up for the two of them, trusting that Aya would take care of Dilan until he got back.

Dilan was curled up on the back porch with a couple of blankets and a book. And a protein shake the size of a monster slurpee cup.

"I'm sure they have socks. You grab a package and I'll call mom, see if she can get you an appointment while we're out doing this." Because Elcy would want to do something?

"Oh, hey. Good idea." He nodded and grabbed a couple of packages of socks.

"I can think sometimes!" Aya laughed and dialed Elcy on her cell, requesting a podiatrist appointment. She'd know who to contact for katzu foot needs!" "Mom says hi and don't forget to pick up more hair care stuff cause you're almost out of wax!"

"Right. We can get that back at home, though, we don't need to pay mall prices for it." Dilan said, shaking his head."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, and we don't want to sit around while people have dread envy either." It was a risk when going to public places to buy hair stuff! "I know you're awesome but there is a screening process for who's allowed to touch your hair!"

"Betcha nobody comes up and touches without asking any more." Dilan said, "I'm a freaking giant."

[mitochondriaaya]

"I dunno, pretty hair is hypnotic!" Aya pointed out. Or at least that was the way it seemed to her given how people's hands gravitated towards her boys. "Granted, Braig loves it. But I remember the peanut butter in your hair!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yeah, I do not want to have to shave my head again. I've had the dreads way too long." He said with a shudder, "Still. There'll be new boundaries now that I'm not tiny."

[mitochondriaaya]

"No, no shaving your head again. We'll find another way." There had to be some science magic that could take peanut butter out of hair! "Eh, I don't boundaries will change that much? Mine haven't?"

"I mean with regards to strangers." Dilan said, "It'd be weird if you stopped touching me."

[mitochondriaaya]

Aya was thirteen, which wasn't that far off from eight really, so of course she had to start touching him. Touchy touchy touchy touchy! "Strangers are always weird. I bet you get a lot more girlfriends now since you're obviously grown!"

"I don't need a lot more girlfriends! I like the ones we've got!" Dilan pointed out, "Quality over quantity."

[mitochondriaaya]

"Yeah, but you've got more now than you did in highschool, and what if you guys decide to expand again? You guys date in crowds!" She blamed Braig really, he was the dramatic one.

"Besides, aren't two of them getting doctorates soon?"

"Well, yeah." Dilan said, rubbing the back of his head, "But you never know, they might break up with me."

[mitochondriaaya]

"If they do they're idiots," Aya snorted. "They like you, tall or not!" That was the way dating was suppose to work right?

"That's the way I'll think when I'm dating anyway."

[sliceitwithwind]

"Yeah, but if they thought I was sexy small, they might not now that I'm big." Dilan pointed out dryly, "Braig's pretty small too. I'm in a whole different class than I was."

[mitochondriaaya]

"So? Sweep them off their feet and convince them you're sexier now!" Pro-active romance! "You know you're awesome, don't wait around for them to figure that out, show them!"

[sliceitwithwind]

"We'll see." Dilan was not the most confident of the three of them, no. "Can we just finish shopping?" Talking about sex things with Aya was weird.

Yeah, well, she'd start thinking it was weird too once the hormones hit her a bit harder! "And yeah. Did you see the winter coat section? Think they have any sizes that work?"

[sliceitwithwind]

"We can check." he said dubiously.

Rightfully so. Nothing would close around his shoulders, no matter how many he tried on.

Aya kidnapped a sales person to hunt for larger sizes, and failing that suggest a place where they could get clothing that fit! "Well, at least the store he says isn't too far? We can walk there." It was near the mall! "And the surf shop here should have the wetsuit we need though, you know they're well stocked!"

"Yeah." Dilan shook his head, "Don't be surprised if I have to get a regular swimsuit and order a wetsuit, okay?"

"Okay, I just wanted you to be able to swim when it gets cooler too..." she fretted a little but what he said made sense really. "Not Hawaiian shorts though? Please?" BRAIG WAS ENOUGH!

"C'mon, it'd make Braig happy." Dilan pointed out, "And it's not like I'm going to win any fashion shows."

[mitochondriaaya]

"But it's so...touristy..." she shivered teasingly and trundled their cart to the register. "And you would rock fashion shows."
